Straw Chair
This 'lip work' or straw chair is believed to have come from Hafod mansion, near Devil's Bridge.
It was probably made during the19th century.
It was made of straw bound together with dried strips of bramble stems on a wooden framework.
Lip work chairs were made from the Middle Ages until the early 20th Century. Ceredigion and the Orkneys were the last places in Britain where they were made.
