Little food was imported for animals at the end of the 19th century. Linseed cake was purchased for cattle; Indian corn was bought for chickens, and was ground for pigs.

Hay was fed to horses and cattle

Root crops were fed to cattle and pigs

Oilcake (made from ground nut waste) was fed to cattle
