FARM VEHICLES

exhibition number: Agriculture 24

There were few wheeled vehicles in Cardiganshire before 1800. Sledges and slide cars were used on the bad roads and hill sides. After that date farms began to acquire small carts. The large four-wheel carts found on the borders of England and Wales were not used in Cardiganshire. The quad bike is now found on many farms and is ideal in the hilly terrain of the county.
