LONDON WELSH DAIRIES

A Welsh Dairy in London

exhibition number: Dairy 65.4

From about 1860 onward, owing to hard times in Wales, many Welshmen, especially from Cardiganshire set up dairy businesses in London, keeping cows on the premises in the middle of the city; this practice continued until 1954. Milk and cream were sold over the counter and by a milk round.
